Newsletter by Chris MacDonald
I'd like to start this Newsletter wishing
the following people a Happy Birthday. They
are: Golden Bear Book Author Robert
Carvounas. Former Amigos De Bolsa Chica
President Dave Carlberg, Huntington Beach
Big Band Musician Tom Kubis and Huntington
Beach Resident Sophia Selecky.
Huntington Beach Police Chief Ken Small's
Administrative Assistant Karin Reed says:
More than 20,000 runners participated in the
Annual Surf City USA Half and Full Marathon
in Huntington Beach on Sunday. The race gave
participants the chance to run along the
beach, through Huntington Beach Central Park
and along the usually congested Pacific
Coast Highway. Thanks to the staff and
volunteers, road closures throughout the
city were a success. Congratulations to all
the Runners! Another beautiful day in Surf
City USA!
The Huntington Beach Public Works Department
has no new Items to mention.
Lisa Karos of Re/Max Select One had this
this to report: On Jan 10th Lisa reported
that the entire 1600 block of Pacific Coast
Hwy. was blown out due to a neutral going
bad the week of Jan 10th. The surge
completely ruined most of the circuit boards
in the homes taking out electricity,
heating, internet, security system,
refrigerators and ovens. Socal Edison stated
that they had been testing the lines the
night before which caused the outage. Other
incidents like this were also reported close
to 18th St. If you or your block experienced
an outage it is important to retain all
receipts & contact Socal Edison to file
a claim immediately. To date there has not been any reimbursement from
Edison. After admitting to this debacle in January let's hope they step up
to the plate and reimburse the homeowners.
