Clayton California's Proud Traditions

Although it was founded in 1964, the City of Clayton actually credits its founding fathers in 1857 with shaping this proud Contra Costa County place over 10,000 people call home. Located at the base of Mount Diablo (a well known East Bay  landmark for millions of residents from Lafayette to Concord and beyond,) the landscapes help you relax, even while bustling San Francisco and Silicon Valley are within reach.

Just over 40 miles to the North by car you can be in Napa Valley sipping world-class wines or even closer yet, head east to Pittsburg to access the popular boating and waterways of the Delta.

Life in Clayton is ideal for those seeking a bit more relaxed lifestyle while having access to top destinations and big cities.

While locals like to roam and explore, they can stay right at home to enjoy festivities such as the Art and Wine Festival,  the 4th of July Parade, Rib Cook-off, Oktoberfest celebration, and summer Concerts in The Grove in the beautiful Downtown Park.

For the civic minded and socially focused crowd, Clayton, CA, has most the social clubs found throughout the nation. You can contact them to come as a visitor or consider joining, should you decide to establish roots in a city that has ranked as one of the best places to live by national organizations. Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Kiwanis, Rotary, Soroptimists and Lions are some of the non-profits that invite new members.

Entrepreneurs can get information from the city, and network through Clayton Business and Community Association, which produces iconic events held annually.

There's a theater production group, an historical society, garden club and the activities and interests just go on.

It's hard not to fall in love with Clayton, its Bay Area location, amenities and ambience. This hidden secret that doesn't try to hide its civic pride is often overlooked for nearby, more publicized places such as Concord, San Ramon and Danville. Many wouldn't trade their homes in Clayton for anything else, because they've found their paradise.
