Balloon twisting, Holiday Music and Dickens Carolers are a few wonderful holiday activities that have traditionally been included in this free event.

Adorned with decorative lollipops, candy canes, and garland, the city Christmas tree is a joy, celebrated in a community gathering with costumed singers providing sweet harmonies and traditional Christmas and holiday songs, part of the merriment, that includes cookies and hot chocolate. All are invited to come share in the fun.

In 2010 a Nordmann Fir was purchased by the City Council in October from a farm in Oregon to replace the tree informally known in the community as the "Charlie Brown tree."

The chamber invites guests to donate a new toy for the city's adopted Marines of the First Battalion, Fourth Regiment and the sailors of USS McClusky.

The ex-officio community Christmas Tree loosely dubbed Charlie Brown because it looked, well, maybe a little scrawny has traditionally served as the city holiday tree until 2010. Southern California Edison was kind to bring out their truck lift to help decorate the tree--all in goodwill. But "Charlie" caused people to sigh, instead of beam with pride in a city where there's so much to love and be proud of.

In 2010 through the efforts of community volunteers such as the Laguna Niguel Chamber of Commerce, a new tree was purchased and created applause. It set the standard for Christmases to come.

Other fun events in Laguna Niguel include the holiday parade and free summer concerts.
