Groove to the Best Music! Afrobeat, reggae, salsa, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, blues, and classical music are among the music genres to celebrate the predominantly Black neighborhood of East Oakland.

Concerts are presented in a park featuring California's only outdoor wooden roller-skating rink. Skate & Vibe at the Famous Umoja Outdoor Skating Rink! Fun for the Whole Family!  Celebrate Community & Good Vibes!

This summer, two family-friendly  Music in the Park mini-concerts feature local Bay Area bands. Enjoy spending time with friends and family outdoors for a little music before sunset. Better yet, come a little early and enjoy a picnic! These are outdoor community events, so please bring a blanket or chairs, and bug spray BYOB (non-alcoholic). No dogs allowed in the park

 Since 1912, the Oakland Municipal Band has been presenting free concerts at Lakeside Park in the heart of Oakland, California. It is one of the oldest musical organizations in the United States. Lakeside Park is a cultural center of the city and the free concerts bring citizens of all ages and backgrounds together for quality music, picnicking and socializing. Some attendees have been enjoying the concerts for over fifty years! About The Music and the Musicians The 35-piece band performs music from a variety of genres, including marches, classical, pop, big band, movies, international, show tunes, and more, for the enjoyment of the diverse population of Oakland and its surrounding areas. Concerts are presented with educational information about the pieces being performed.

Past events

Jack London Square presents live music with celebrated performers. The annual Summer Music Series delivers free entertainment for all visitors to the Square with six Friday nights of free, musical entertainment at the Oakland waterfront. The open-air music series begins mid-July and runs through the beginning of August, Friday evenings 6-8 p.m. on restaurant row in front of Left Bank Brasserie.
