GARDEN GROVE: Strawberry Festival & Parade May 27 -30, 2011 strawberryfestival

"A Tradition Since 1958", enjoy four fun filled days of festivities with the largest community parade on the West Coast. Parade starts Saturday at 10 a.m. on Chapman at 9th Street, heads toward Euclid, where it turns and goes just past Lampson. SUNOL: Toast of Spring on the Wildflower Train

One hour excursion filled with views of California poppies, lupin and mustard wildflowers seen from a vintage train ride through Niles Canyon. Board at the old Sunol depot and travel part of the historic route of the first transcontinental railroad. The one-hour round-trip excursion is about 14 miles. The largest arts & crafts fair in Southern California features 270 artists and crafters, including painters, photographers, ceramicists, jewelers, sculptors, and handicrafters. POINT ARENA: Hog & Lamb BBQ. Time: Noon - 6. Location: Veterans Memorial Hall, Point Arena, CA. - 25 approx. Deep-pit slow cooked pork (with Carl Bell's original BBQ sauce) and barbequed lamb are the highlight of an annual event to raise funds for these Firefighters Association.
