Pony Express Days established in 1968, is a 5 day community event that includes a Clam Chowder Cook-off, Fireman's Muster (fireman games), Pony Express Dance and Saturday's Parade down Central Avenue that rolls right into the big Family Festival in Pierson Park. SANTA CRUZ: Vintners' Festival "Roots That Rock, June 1 & 2 and 8 & 9, 2013. The Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association presents the 24th Annual event. The first weekend, June 1 & 2, the festival will be hosted at participating wineries in Santa Clara/San Mateo Counties. The second weekend, June 8 & 9, the festival will be hosted at participating wineries in Santa Cruz County with a Festival location in Downtown Santa Cruz on Pacific Avenue between Locust and Walnut Streets on June 9. Participating wineries will be open for tastings and other activities all four days from 12 p.m.to 5 p.m.. Wineries will also be pouring at the Sunday street faire from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m..
