St. Patrick's Day
When St. Patrick's Day falls on a Tuesday the biggest parades and festivals happen the weekend before, which is the case in 2026. However, on March 17 each year you can head for your city's downtown area where bars & pubs are located and generally find lines forming out the door, beginning in the afternoon.
Pub crawls abound on this special day but do pace yourself. Plan ahead for rides if you plan to drink. Places to go: one of the best Irish pub scenes (in our opinion) is San Francisco and the Bay Area. Every big city - Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco - offers countless opportunities to listen to Irish music, dance, and drink your favorite beers or cocktails.
