SIERRA MADRE Trick or Treat Downtown - The Madre Menagerie

On Halloween, kids are invited to bring their folks and trick or treat in Downtown Sierra Madre. In an time honored tradition, businesses owners open their doors for the little ghost and goblins, then the children stick around to participate in the Halloween parade along Sierra Madre Blvd. 

Downtown trick-or-treating, a costume parade, and costume contest is coordinated by the Sierra Madre Chamber of Commerce. Local businesses hand out candy in Kersting Court, on Sierra Madre Blvd between Baldwin Ave and Lima Ave, on Baldwin Ave between Sierra Madre Blvd (and select businesses on East Montecito Ave).

Participating businesses will have a trick-or-treating sign placed at their window.

5 p.m. Everyone is invited to participate in the Sierra Madre Costume Parade often led by the Sierra Madre Fire Department and sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Sierra Madre. The parade begins in Kersting Court and will travel west on Sierra Madre Blvd. finishing at Memorial Park.

 5:30 p.m. sharp The costume contest at Memorial Park requires all costume contest participants to fill out a waiver prior to participating. Categories include: 0-2 years; 3-4 years; 5-7 years; and 8-13 years.

Thursday, October 31, 2019 Halloween Happenings

Trick or Treating
3:30 pm - 5 pm
• Downtown Sierra Madre businesses will be handing out treats! • Participating business will have a sign in window indicating involvement

Costume Parade
5 p.m. KERSTING COURT
• Follow the Sierra Madre Fire Department Engine down Sierra Madre Blvd.
• Parade should only last 15 minutes. Starts at Kersting Court and ends at Hermosa Ave.
• Costume parade is open to all ages and registration is not required to participate

Costume Contest
5:30 - 7:30 pm Memorial Park
• All contestants must fill out a waiver form in Kersting Court from 4:00 - 5:00 pm - late
contestants can fill one out in Memorial Park
• Categories: Group (All ages - Must include 1 youth under 17), 2 and under, 3 to 4 years old, 5
to 7 years old, and 8 to 13 years old
• Prizes will be given to the top 3 group and age category contestants.
• Strong efforts are being made to keep the contest to under an hour. Please arrive at 5:30 pm!

Activities are free. Prizes for the Costume Contest are provided by the Sierra Madre Kiwanis Club.

October Scarecrows

The latest tradition in Sierra Madre is Scarecrows on Display around town. Workshops are offered by Creative Group - creativeartsgroup.org
