The fish fry is located at Lions Park in Costa Mesa
(18th Street between Park Ave. and Anaheim Ave.) Hours: Sat. & Sunday opens at
Noon.
A popular annual event, the fish fry, is often held as a fundraiser for some special cause. It seems the experts in fish fry festivals are the Lions Clubs. Costa Mesa Newport Harbor Lions Club could be called the Fish Fry Kings but they already have been crowned "The Fish Fry Club". They've got the fish-shaped hats, they know how to fry the fish just right, and they've been doing it in a tradition that goes back well over 60 years (65 years in 2012).
Held in Lions Park in Costa Mesa, the Lions Club Fish Fry includes a carnival and sometimes a Baby Contest which is quite popular with parents and grandparents. Surfing bands, free admission and affordable fish dishes are served up at this fabulous event with a long tradition of giving to the community. Thanks for all you do, Lions Club of Costa Mesa Newport Harbor, California!
Dedicated to helping the less fortunate, the service organizations have a long history with cooking fish and charging an affordable price for a meal served to the public during annual fish fry festivals that include raffles, musical entertainment, sometimes a car show, games and other things for the family to do.
California's fish fry events have the luxury of the Pacific Ocean, teaming with fish. And their ocean-close locations makes for wonderful events to showcase the meal that is usually served for some greater cause.
