Laguna Beach, Calif.-- An art festival event with an incredible span and tradition in Laguna Beach, Sawdust Festival lasts approx. two months each summer, usually in July & August. Coinciding with Art -A-Fair which is located next door to the Sawdust Festival in another building that charges separate admission fees, these two festivals also go hand-in-hand with the annual Pageant of the Masters. Likewise, it is an art event held on an outdoor amphitheater stage where famous paintings are re-enacted by real live people.

Sawdust Festival began in 1966. It expanded to also offer a Christmas art festival and artist classes and art demonstrations.

What's the difference between Sawdust Festival and Art A-Afair next door? Sawdust is more of an entertainment venue with bands, an outdoor restaurant and garden, small stage for music, and festival atmosphere. The neighboring event represents national artists and is focused more on paintings and purchasing of artwork. You can buy all sorts of hand-made crafts and artwork at Sawdust Festival, but the event has more of an open-air, festival feel, and is worth a visit for its festival location, sawdust floors, music, food, and fun.

Events are not guaranteed. It is your responsibility to confirm before going.
