Annual Día de los Muertos celebration in Mission Plaza includes a festive procession which launches the day. Dance, poetry, mariachi music, folkloric dance, arts & crafts, costume & altar contests, a memorial altar and wall, food and vendor booths, and much more are in store. There are several processionals:

 ​THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2018 Beginning Near First Presbyterian Church and Processing through Downtown SLO to the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art November 1st marks the official "Day of the Dead". We honor this day by having a traditional Dia de los Muertos procession, in both English and Spanish, through Downtown San Luis Obispo. Traditional costumes and pictures of loved ones encouraged.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2018 10 a.m. at the Mission Plaza Saturday mornings festival begins with a traditional procession at Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo. There will be a large procession from the Mission Plaza, through the Museum of Art, to the traditional altar back at the Mission Plaza. ​Traditional costumes and pictures of loved ones encouraged.
