Laguna Ballet for ages 5 and up was founded by Shery Gilbert.  It has held an annual Nutcracker ballet performance (usually at Saddle Back College) with around 90 cast member dancers for several decades, delighting Orange County audiences throughout the seasons. Many students have continued in the ballet careers after receiving a strong foundation under the guidance of the expert staff.

Laguna Ballet's annual performance of The Nutcracker (over 25 years running), continues the tradition with the Nutcracker performance the third week in December. McKinney Theatre at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo has hosted this full length version in recent seasons.

Past seasons have include ballet dancers such as Meghan McDonough and Sophia Romagnano in the lead role of Clara. Guest artists have included  Anton Pankevich of Pacific Northwest Ballet and Miranda Weese, former New York City Ballet principal.

Laguna Ballet is a non-profit junior ballet company, comprised of children ages 5-up, founded by Shery Gilbert. Laguna Ballet in conjunction with the school, Laguna Dance Theatre, provides an exceptional environment where each student receives the special care and attention needed to become a self confident dancer.
