The Vacaville Ballet Company is thrilled to be returning home to the VPAT stage this winter! VBC opens the holiday season with the return of the classic Nutcracker.
Based on the E.T.A. Hoffman story, the Nutcracker follows Clara on her magical journey with her enchanted Nutcracker through the Land of Snow, where they meet the lovely Snow Queen. They travel on to the Nutcracker’s Palace, where the Sugar Plum Fairy invites them to indulge in all the treats of the land. They are joined by the exotic Arabian bird and Mother Ginger and her dancing gingerbread children.
Finally, the Dew Drop Fairy and her garden of flowers perform in their honor. Clara awakens at home, wondering if she really spent the evening on a magical journey or if it was all a beautiful dream. Bring your family and kick off your holidays with VBC!
To really put you in the Christmas mood, be sure to head downtown of the Tree Lighting ceremonies and merchant open house held each year in Benicia. Halloween in Benicia is a blast and well worth a visit.
