Lumberjack Fiesta Celebrates Local Heritage of McCloud, Calif.

66th Annual McCloud Lumberjack Fiesta on July 26 – 28, 2013 is McCloud, California’s longest running event,  sponsored by the McCloud Community Recreation Council as their main fundraiser.  Lil Miss Fiesta and Lil Logger are selected and amateur logging competitions for kids are held on Saturday and adults on Sunday. Horseshoes and softball tournaments, a Watermelon Eating Contest for kid and musical entertainment with dancing in the park (even after dark) are the reason this popular festival keeps going strong each year!   • Trees of Mystery in Klamath features a statue of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox.
  • Samoa Cookhouse in Eureka, Calif. is one of the oldest restaurants in California and the last surviving lumberjack camp style cookhouse in the West. There’s a small lumberjack museum inside the historic building.
  • In White Pines near Arnold, Sierra Logging Museum documents all things logging. See sierraloggingmuseum.org
  • Paul Bunyan Days takes place on Labor Day weekend in Fort Bragg.  It also includes  a 20?   • Lumberjack Day takes place on the first Saturday in October in West Point (Calaveras County.)
