Scottish Festival at Queen Mary in Long Beach; crowd pleasers at Cloverdale Citrus Fair, Pig racing at Date Festival in Indio, Civil War battle at Calico Ghost Town in Yermo, and Whiskey Flat Days Parade in Kernville.

This is a weekend to get wild…let your kilt fly free and sample whiskey in Long Beach. In Cloverdale at the Citrus Fair there’s a heavy duty wine competition and seriously fun carnival going on all weekend. In Indio there’s pigs, camels and ostriches racing in rings. At Calico Ghost Town the Civil War hits town and stirs the ghosts with thunderous booming sounds of canon fire and mock battles. And last but not least in Kernville the annual Whiskey Flat Days is a huge parade, rodeo, encampments, costumes, food and non-stop entertainment. What a hoot! Other things to see and do include the Golden Dragon Parade in L.A.
