The Tree Lighting & Music have become part of a three-day celebration which was previously called Open House but is known  as Hermosa for the Holidays.

Manhattan Avenue (by Java Man) is Holiday Central with Santa's Workshop, Storytime tent Sidewalks along Pier Avenue and Hermosa Avenue: Retail pop-up vendors Pier Plaza: Retail pop-up vendors, Carnival Rides, live music for Tree Lighting Ceremony; Schumacher Plaza: Christmas tree; Beach North of the Pier: Carnival ride

• Storytime tent
• Santa letter writing station
• Rock for Tots concert (Saturday)
• Community concert and tree lighting ceremony (Sunday)
• Santa pictures for the family
• Shop for gifts from local artisans and retailers 

A traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony is Hermosa Beach's annual event to celebrate the holidays, the beach, the pier, and nature. Community open house takes place along Pier Avenue (Plaza to PCH). Held annually at the Hermosa Beach Pier, the event invites the public to attend to enjoy holiday carolers, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and the official lighting of the Hermosa Beach Holiday Tree to help kick off the holiday season in Hermosa Beach.

A Menorah Lighting Ceremony happens at Pier Plaza several weeks later.
