
There are several holiday lightings in Huntington Beach. The oldest tradition is the lighting of the pier. It is traditionally the culmination of a holiday parade on Main Street called Light a Light of Love. This event is usually held the first Sunday in December.

Huntington Beach Mayor ProTem Don Hansen and Santa Claus flip the switch on the tree at 6 p.m.
Bring used or new coat donations for Coats For Kids, or unwrapped toys for Spark of Love/ Toys for Tots charity, sponsored the Huntington Beach Fire Department.
The downtown tree lighting ceremony is sponsored by Huntington Beach Downtown Business Improvement District (HBDBID) and partner members, Hilton Waterfront Resort and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory offering hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn. Free.

Light a Light of Love Parade, Pier Lighting & Santa Arrives . A small town parade with a Hawaiian-themed Santa and Mrs. Santa Claus atop an HB Firetruck, Girl Scouts, Brownie troops, woody cars and a band all march down Main Street USA, then head across PCH to Pier Plaza for a musical show. Youth dance groups, songs and speeches herald the official switch of the lights with snowflake designs on the Huntington Beach Pier. Dukes Huntington Beach offers hot cocoa and cookies for a small donation with proceeds benefitting the Youth Shelter. Location: Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway adjacent to Huntington Beach Pier, Huntington Beach, CA. Time: 4 p.m. Free to attend.
