There are several holiday lightings in Huntington Beach. The oldest tradition is the lighting of the pier. It is traditionally the culmination of a holiday parade on Main Street called Light a Light of Love. This event is usually held the first Sunday in December.

Miracle on Main Street  Tree Lighting Ceremony Be part of the annual Main Street Holiday Tree Lighting in downtown Huntington Beach. Enjoy free entertainment, treats, and a visit from Santa himself! 5 p.m. Live music and entertainment 5:45 p.m. Santa Claus  grand entrance 6 p.m. Tree Lighting 

3rd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Huntington Beach  called Miracle on Main Street includes the lighting of the 20 foot tree.  Snowflakes lights and swirling colors create a sensation of snow in this magical display adjacent to the Huntington Beach Pier.  Former Mayor Shirley Detloff and coloring contest kids flip the switch on the tree  (was 6 p.m. last year)

Local children are scheduled to perform during this fun event, kicking off the beginning of Miracle on Main Street. Bring your children and your camera for a free photo op with Santa on the following days: Tuesdays December 4, 11 & 18, 2012, 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays & Sundays ( except Dec. 2): December 1, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 & 23, 2012,  3 to 7 p.m. 

The downtown tree lighting ceremony is sponsored by Huntington Beach Downtown Business Improvement District (HBDBID) and partner members,  Hilton Waterfront Resort and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory offering hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn. Free.

December Tree Lighting & The Magic of Snow Friday,  Join Santa Claus at Bella Terra's opening night for holiday events, featuring the OC Song & Dance Company and Miss Huntington Beach performing a musical tribute to the season.

Light a Light of Love Parade, Pier Lighting & Santa Arrives . A small town parade with a Hawaiian-themed Santa and Mrs. Santa Claus atop an HB Firetruck, Girl Scouts, Brownie troops, woody cars and a band all march down Main Street USA, then head across PCH to Pier Plaza for a musical show. Youth dance groups, songs and speeches herald the official switch of the lights with snowflake designs on the Huntington Beach Pier. Dukes Huntington Beach offers hot cocoa and cookies for a small donation with proceeds benefitting the Youth Shelter. Location: Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway adjacent to Huntington Beach Pier, Huntington Beach, CA. Time: 4 p.m. Free to attend.
