LA JOLLA: Scripps Pier Walk, September 7-8, 2014 along the Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier, normally closed to the public, on an exclusive moonlit tour September 7 & 8 from 6-8pm. Learn the history of Scripps and explore current research projects, while collecting plankton, performing experiments, and discovering the nocturnal habits of marine life. REDDING: Turtle Bay Hosts its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament in support of Turtle Bay! Shamble-format tournament that features four person teams in three divisions: Men's, Women's, and Mixed. The tournament will be at Riverview Golf and Country Club with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Entry fee is 25 per golfer, per team and the fee includes greens fees, carts, and a Western BBQ lunch. The tournament is limited to 120 players (30 teams, 4 players each) and the registration deadline is August 30. To register, 242-3130. With prizes, games, and a raffle, it's guaranteed to be a great time and all proceeds support the exhibitions and educational programs at Turtle Bay Exploration Park.
