BIG BEAR LAKE - September17-October 29 (weekends): Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest, Big Bear Lake, CA Big Bear Lake hosts its 41st annual Oktoberfest, which takes place at the resort's Convention Center. This Bavarian-style celebration  features America's highest elevation biergarten; authentic German food, music, and dance groups; activities, including America's only stein-holding contests; and a fun zone for children and families. New this year is the Trachten Verein Traunstoana dancers direct from Big Bear's sister city Abtenau, Austria. They perform traditional Austrian dances.
