Bolshoi is a name associated with Russian ballet and the Bolshoi Ballet is one of the oldest and finest ballet companies in the world.
The choreographic team for this season's Nutcracker studied and trained at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Maria Tikhomirova, who has an advanced degree in choreography, and Enton Hoxha bring to Conejo Civic Ballet Company's 2010 production of Nutcracker their extensive training and experience at the Bolshoi and their commitment to bringing to the Kavli Theater at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza a fully
Russian Nutcracker.
Founded in 1962, the Conejo Civic Ballet is a competition free school
providing classical ballet, jazz, tap for all ages.
Staff: Robin Twarowski - Executive Director &
Owner of Ballet Arts, successfully developed young-dancer ballet programs for Agoura and Thousand Oaks communities. She has danced with Bay Area Ballet, Santa Cruz Ballet and CCBC. Robin is Executive Director of Conejo Civic Ballet Company
focusing on selection of faculty and staff, and acquiring resources and support for the faculty and CCBC artists so that they can provide our students with the best dance instruction in the Thousand Oaks area.
Eva Pokorny: Artistic Director is a graduate of the Vaganova Method, City Ballet School, Zlin, Czechoslovakia.
As a member of the National Ballet of Czechoslovakia for 20 years, her
experience and training is invaluable to teaching advanced ballet classes at Ballet Arts. Eva
is in charge of the core ballet teaching program. She is also artist director of Conejo Civic
Ballet Company and though you will rarely see her come out and take a bow, all major decisions
about the CCBC productions come from her.
