LONG BEACH TO CATALINA: Approx. 70 water ski teams will ski from the Queen Marry to Avalon and back using boats from 20 to 40 foot in length. The fastest teams can finish the round trip in less than 1 hour, but most will be done in less than 2 hours. Skiers from around the world will participate, such as from Australia, England, Belgium and New Zealand. These are all amateur athletes competing for just the honor to win or the accomplishment to finish the "World's Greatest Water Ski Race.
