INDIO, CALIF.--Southwest Arts
Festival, in existence 25 years in 2011,
features over 300 acclaimed,
internationally know and recognized
artists whose works are on display in
the three day event at the spacious
grounds of the Empire Polo Club.
Traditional, contemporary and abstract
fine art is showcased. Artists come from
22 states and 3 countries (Canada, Peru
and Mexico) to show their art in this
event.
Sculpture, paintings, photography,
printmaking, metalwork, jewelry,
ceramics, glass, and textiles are some
of the media and mixed media presented--
all the work is original, custom art.
Among those attending in 2011 are
sculptor Felicia from Colorado and
Cathedral City artist, Richard Curtner,
whose textural collage was selected for
the 2011 Festival Poster.
The destination art festival
includes entertainment, food specialties
and a children's art project area run by
the S.C.R.A.P.
In 2010 the event attendance
topped 13,000 over the three days, with
purchases totaling nearly $1 million.
