Tamale Festivals in California

Held in conjunction with the Oxnard Christmas Parade is the Annual Oxnard Tamale Festival taking place from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Festival-goers enjoy a wide range of tamales from sweet to savory to traditional.

The event also includes an eating contest, holiday crafts fair, kids' activities and live music. The Christmas Parade is held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in Downtown Oxnard, allowing holiday revelers to make a breakfast meal out of tamales, eat them for lunch, then wrap some up for a traditional dinner at home in the evening.
