Placer Theatre Ballet presents The Nutcracker, a magical holiday family tradition.  Placer Theatre Ballet is a theatre ballet production company dedicated to the joy of storytelling through the art of dance, and the Nutcracker represents the ultimate story bringing color, joy, music and arts into the lives of audiences of all ages.  Dancers from throughout the region audition for parts in this presentation that includes both aspiring young dancers in significant roles alongside professional artists.

Join Placer Theatre Ballet for its  annual Nutcracker, showcasing exquisite costuming and artful direction of Shea Wing. At an early age, Mr. Wing took to the stage at every opportunity and has professional experience in many aspects of dance and theatre arts. Under the direction of Wayne Davis and Kathryn Irey he performed  with the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, then pursued his passion, awarded a full ballet scholarship to U.S.I.U. where he studied Ballet under Steven Wistrich and performed with the school's international ballet company.

He performed with California Ballet in San Diego for several years under the direction of Maxine Mahon;  Broadway musicals with the San Diego Civic Opera and has performed roles in Carmen, Bolero and Heroes as well as the classic repertoire including Cinderella, Coppelia, Don Quixote, Le Bayadere and The Nutcracker. Since becoming Artistic Director of Placer Theatre Ballet, Mr. Wing has staged several full length ballets, including Cinderella, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and The Nutcracker.

The cast is comprised of over 100 talented local dancers. The Placer Theatre Ballet is a  publicly-funded 501(c)3 non-profit organization that seeks your help and donations.

Founded by Pat Colgate in 1998, she retired in 2011.
