Legoland Carlsbadis nearby, and a family favorite for a day of entertainment. There are three theme parks—a water park, an aquarium and the original biggest park, Legoland.

Carlsbad Flower Fieldsare open in the spring around March through May, and feature ranunculus flowers in a spread of orange, yellow and red.

Casino Gamblingat Oceans 11 in Oceanside features a gaming room, and small restaurant.

Mission San Luis Reyin Oceanside is a beautifully restored place with a water fountain at its entrance. The historic landmarks was considered the King of the Missions and was established in 1798.No more than a few miles from the beach, don't hesitate to go out of your way to visit. Open daily. Ride a Bikealong the beach path or take a ride along the 7.2-mile San Luis Rey River bike path, which is flat, easy, and well trafficked.

Art Viewingis possible throughout the city at the Oceanside Museum of Art (704 Pier View Way, call 760- 435-3720), in the Surfing Museum exhibits, and in public spaces. Public art includes sculptures and wall murals.

Oceanside 101 Culture & Dining- Oceanside is all about 101. And there's a special cafe, 101 Cafe, that was built around the time the 101 was the main highway between San Diego and Los Angeles.
