Orange County beaches
(OC beaches) receive nearly
50% less traffic than Los Angeles County
beaches north of this region of Southern
California. However, they do have their
vacation fans and have developed
reputations separately for their
specific and varied traits. For
instance, the northern beaches such as
Seal Beach bordering Los Angeles County,
Sunset Beach and Huntington Beach, are
flat and sandy with wide sand areas
ideal for sunbathing. Once you get to
south Newport Beach in Corona Del Mar,
the landscape changes significantly to
narrow beaches, rocky coves, and areas
ideal for scuba diving.
Like all of California's beaches, there is no fee to access a public beach. Sometimes it may be a challenge to find free parking, however. OCTA (Orange County Transit Association) is the public bus system connecting all the Orange County beach cities via bus rides.
