
Southern California Edison recently turned off the power to our neighborhood several days to replace phone poles. What an inconvenience! The modern marvel–electricity to your home–is explored this weekend at the Folsom Electricity Fair at the Folsom Historic Powerhouse. It is one of the oldest hydroelectric facilities in the world and one of the first power systems to provide high-voltage alternating current over long-distance transmission lines for major municipal and industrial use.
