California Beach Volleyball

Beach Volleyball is one of the most popular sports, and ranks as an Olympic sport with Californians well represented. The touring pro team worked hard to create a national touring event under the Association of Volleyball Professionals. Many of the games were held in California, and many players came from the state, having learned to play volleyball on the beaches of California. That organization was dissolved in 2010. There's hardly a beach in California where you will not find posts to hang your nets and play sand volleyball, especially in Southern California. Oftentimes the nets will even be there for you, as well. If you came on a flight and didn't bring a ball, there are lots of rentals and sporting goods stores. Or ask and see if you can jump into a game.
