About California events held in February: Valentine's Day is California's largest single event in Feb. and there are far too many events to list for that particular holiday. We picked out events that may be of interest to the general public and all ages. The California fair season launches in Feb. with the Indio Date Festival and Riverside County Fair. It is one of the more unusual fairs to attend, complete with camel races.

Other fun celebrations include the Scottish Festival at Queen Mary, Tulipmania in San Francisco and the huge Chinese New Year's Parade. If you're into big celebrations and libations, be sure to visit San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter for the Mardi Gras Festival. It feels the streets with music, costumes, food, music and beads galore. It's easy to get excited about summer when you partake of February's events, festivals and fairs. They really put you in the mood for things to come!

Events are not guaranteed. It is your responsibility to confirm before going.
