California Fruit Festivals and Events

img

California is the nation's and world's largest producer of many fruits & vegetables. Strawberries, grapes, lemons, dates, tomatoes, artichokes, avocadoes, apples and peaches, as well as nuts, all are among the top producing crops. There's a fruit festival in California just waiting for you!

Question - What is a fruit? Technically speaking, it is the seed-bearing structure that develops from the ovary of a flowering plant. Served next to a piece of meat on your dinner plate, however, squash tastes like a vegetable even though it is a fruit as far as the botanical world is concerned. You can persist with literal interpretations, but don't be alarmed when your fruits are treated like vegetables.
