  • FOOD FESTIVALS: Are you hungry? The month of May is an all-star month for food festivals in the berry theme-- strawberries, to be precise. Also this month California celebrates mushrooms, artichokes, nuts, chocolate and macaroni. It's an odd mix but nothing is ever boring when you combine food passion with creative action in outstanding festivals.
  • ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVALS: California must be the arts mecca. Honestly, there are so many festivals taking place that it is no easy task to find and list them all. Get ready to enjoy the shopping, the creative atmosphere and the talent that fills the street festivals and markets where you'll find original art, jewelry, glass works and more.
  • MUSIC FESTIVALS: May signals the music festival season with weekend campouts, sit-ins and every theme imaginable in the world of music. Jazz steals the show in Sacramento's music festival while Cinco de May (5/5) is the top day for mariachi music. Book early!
  • BEER FESTIVALS: This is a growing category of festivals in California and one that has enjoyed tremendous attendance. The events are often all inclusive tastings, though some of the chamber sponsored events tend toward tickets purchased for samples. It all just depends.
